On Wednesday, Benchmark NSE Nifty 50 index was trading 32.45 Pts down at 12841.75, due to the selling in frontline bluechip counters.
In the afternoon trade, despite the index was down 20 shares were trading in green and 14 of them have touched their 52-week highs which are Adani Green Energy, Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone, Ashok Leyland, Bajaj Electricals, Dalmia Bharat, HDFC Life; InterGlobe Aviation (IndiGo), Jamna Auto, Jubilant Foodworks, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Info Edge (India), Somany Ceramics, Tube Investments of India (TII) and Vardhman Special Steels.
Mahindra & Mahindra, Larsen & Toubro, Tata Motors, Bajaj Finance and Bajaj Finserv were among the top gainers in the Nifty 50 index, while BPCL, Titan Company, Hero MotoCorp., Bharti Airtel and ITC were trading in the red.
The Benchmark BSE Sensex index was trading 79.37 points down at 43873.34. Investors were seen piling up their positions in Construction, Plastics, Irrigation & Allied Services, Diversified and IT – Hardware sectors, while selling positions in Trading, Textiles, Tobacco, Logistics, Gems and Jewellery sectors.
