Airtel has entered into partnership with Ericsson, to develop 5G technology for Airtel’s India operations.
Nunzio Mirtillo, Ericsson’s Senior Vice President and Head of Market Area South East Asia, Oceania and India stated, “We have MoUs (agreements) with 36 operators globally. In India, we have recently tied up with Bharti Airtel for 5G technology.”
The financial details of partnership were not disclosed by Mirtillo. Further he stated that, as a part of the partnership Ericsson and Airtel have come together to push Airtel’s transition into the next-gen 5G network.
Moreover, Ericsson is already a vendor to Bharti Airtel in areas like managed services and 4G.
