Amara Raja Batteries Witnesses A Slight Decrease In Net Profit

Amara Raja Batteries posted their quarterly financial report for the quarter ended in September 2018 with a 5.49 per cent decline in standalone net profit at Rs 120.23 crores. The company had earlier posted a standalone net profit of Rs 127.22 crores in the corresponding period a year ago.

Amara Raja Batteries said in a regulatory filing that the total income during the quarter under discussion stood at Rs 1,767.29 crores whereas, in the same quarter a year ago, it stood at Rs 1,439.73 crores.

According to the company’s statement release, the total expenses in the July-September quarter was reported 27% higher at Rs 1,582.5 crores as compared to Rs 1,249,01 crores in the same quarter of the previous fiscal.

Amara Raja Batteries reported an EPS  (earning per share) of Rs. 7.04 during the said quarter as against the EPS of Rs. 7.45 in the previous year same quarter period.

Amara Raja Batteries board of directors declared an interim dividend of Rs 2 per equity share of face value of Re 1 each after the meeting held on November 9.
