GST Collection In The Month Of December Declines

GST collection in the month of December 2018 declined to Rs 94,726 crores as against Rs 97,637 crores collected in the month of November. The finance ministry in a statement said that the total number of sales returns or GSTR-3B filed till 30 December 2018 is 72.44 lakh.

According to the data released, GST compensation released to states for August-September was reported at Rs 11,922 crores. Out of the Rs 94,726 crores collected, Central GST (CGST) collection stood at Rs. 16,442 crores, State GST (SGST) collection stood at Rs. 22,459 crores, Integrated GST collection stood at Rs 47,936 crores whereas Cess collection stood at Rs. 7,888 crores.

As per the statement released, the government settled Rs. 18,409 crores to CGST and Rs. 14,793 crores to SGST from IGST as the regular settlement. According to the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, after regular settlement the total revenue earned by the central government and state governments in the month under discussion is Rs. 43,851 crores for CGST and Rs. 46,252 crores for SGST.

The GST collection During the current fiscal year has been Rs. 1.03 trillion in April, Rs. 94,016 crores in May, Rs. 95,610 crores in June, Rs. 96,483 crores in July, Rs. 93,960 crores in August, Rs. 94,442 crores in September, Rs. 100,710 crores in October and Rs. 97,637 crore in November.
