Inox Leisure Q2 Profit Rises Marginally By 2.4% To Rs. 11.97 Crores

Multiplex operator Inox Leisure reported a consolidated net profit of Rs. 11.97 crores, posting a 2.48 per cent increase for the quarter ended in September 2018. The company had earlier reported a net profit of Rs 11.68 crores in the July-September quarter a year ago.

The company said in a BSE filing that Its total income grew 17.48 per cent to Rs 369.07 crores during the quarter under review as against Rs 314.15 crore in the same quarter last fiscal.

According to Inox Leisure, the total expenses stood at Rs 350.69 crores as against Rs 296.31 crores, up 18.35 per cent. Inox Leisure’s net box office revenues for Q2 increased 11% year-on-year.

Ebitda (Ebitda is earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization) margin fell by 200 basis points compared to the same period last year to 12.3%. Film exhibition costs, cost of food and beverage (F&B) consumed and other expenses increased at a faster pace, weighing on its operating performance.

F&B revenue increased 41% year-on-year, but that was owing to a lower rate of goods and services tax (GST), almost a 14% increase in spend per head and 7% increase in footfalls.

According to the company, the addition of screens in this fiscal have been faster. The company has added 47 screens so far, compared to 25 in 2017-18. It operates 536 screens in 66 cities in 19 states.
