Shares of Jammu and Kashmir Bank (up by 7.63 per cent), Syndicate Bank (up by 2.69 per cent), Oriental Bank of Commerce (up by 1.01 per cent) and Union Bank of India were (up by 1.06 per cent). These were the top gainers in the index.
Shares of PSU banks were trading with gains in Friday afternoon session. The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 0.70 per cent up at 3086.95 around 12:45 pm.
Central Bank of India (up by 0.92 per cent), Allahabad Bank (up by 0.98 per cent), Bank of India (up by 0.53 per cent), and State Bank of India (up by 0.81 per cent) too were trading high.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 59.70 points at 11,772.05 while the BSE Sensex was down 242.34 points at 39,359.29.
