National Infrastructure Pipeline Project to Assign Over Rs 100 L Cr


In a step towards speedy modernization of India Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that a new direction has to be given to the overall infrastructure development and this objective can be attained by the National Infrastructure Pipeline Project. The prime minister announced this from Red Fort during his address to the nation on account of the 74th Independence Day from Red Fort. India will now spend more than Rs 100 lakh crore on the National Infrastructure Pipeline Project. “There is a need to give a new direction to the overall infrastructural development of the country to move India towards modernity at a fast pace. This need will be met through the National Infrastructure Pipeline Project,” he said.
Around 7,000 projects have been identified under the National Infrastructure Pipeline Project, the Prime Minister said. He added that the time is ripe to remove the infrastructure development silos and a giant plan has been prepared for multi-modal connectivity infrastructure. “Now the era of eliminating silos in infrastructure has come. For this, a very big plan has been prepared.
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi also remembered the significant efforts made by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee for the expansion of the road network through Golden Quadrilateral.
