Numaligarh Refinery Records Their Highest Ever Revenue In FY18

Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL), an Assam based public sector refinery, recorded their highest ever Revenue from operation at Rs. 15,932 crores during the financial year 2017-18. Numaligarh Refinery posted a net 14.17% increase in the turnover as compared to the previous corresponding fiscal year. The company also reported a marginally lower net profit after tax (PAT) of Rs. 2042 crores.

The company also reported one of the best Gross Refinery Margin (GRM) at $11.43 per barrel, as per the company’s statement. The refiner processed 2809 TMT (thousand metric tonnes) crude during the fiscal 2017-18 reaching about 93% utilization of the capacity.NRL also reported highest recorded sales volume during the FY 2017-18 at 2,919 TMT leaving behind the previous record of 2,728 TMT made during the FY 2011-12.

NRL also said in the press release that the company is planning to expand the refinery from 3 MMTPA to 9 MMTPA as part of Central Govt. ‘Hydrocarbon 2030 Vision For The North East’. The company also said that they are implementing plans for one of its kind biorefineries with bamboo as feedstock.

According to the company, a Joint-Venture company under the name of Assam Bio-refinery Pvt Ltd. has been established with equity participation of NRL, Fortum 3BV, Netherlands and Chempolis Oy, Finland. The company also announced an another JV, Indradhanush Gas Grid Limited was incorporated with the equal partnership of NRL, IOCL, ONGC, and Gail for establishing North-East Natural Gas Grid Pipeline.
