Eicher Motors informed that the sales of company’s two-wheeler division, Royal Enfield, declined 13% to 58,278 units during December 2018, as compared to 66,968 units in the corresponding period the previous year.
The Eicher’s trucks and buses, however, witnessed a sales growth of 2.6% from 5,955 units during the December 2017 to 6,113 units in the period under review. The company’s domestic sales in the same period rose 1.3% to 5,112 units as against 5,045 units during the December of 2017.
Eicher’s exports of the commercial vehicles witnessed a sharp 10% rise to 1,001 units in December from 910 units in a year ago. Also during the month of December sales of VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd, a joint venture between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, stood at 6,236 units as against 6,087 units in the corresponding period of the previous year, posting a net rise of 2.4%.
The share price of Eicher Motors Ltd, after the company’s monthly sales report, fell over by 9% today, as the stock closed at Rs. 21,014, 9.4% below the previous close.
