Triumph Motorcycles Expects To Launch 6 Motorcycles In India

The British motorcycle manufacturer, Triumph Motorcycles has recently announced its plans to launch six motorcycles in India. According to the statement released by the company, these upcoming motorcycles will be a mix of new models and upgrades of current bikes and will be available by June next year.

According to Triumph India, one of the motorcycles will be the Triumph Scrambler 1200 that will make a global debut in October and will be launched in India by January 2019. The existing Triumph models that include retro-classic, street naked, scrambler and ADV motorcycles cost between the price range of Rs 7.7 lakh to Rs 22 lakh.

Shoeb Farooq, General Manager, Triumph Motorcycles (India) commented, “The company expects to grow in the range of 10-12 per cent. In the last five years, the premium motorcycle segment has been growing at a CAGR of 20 per cent as compared to around 6-7 per cent for the normal two-wheelers.”

He further added, “Today, Triumph has customer footprints in 400 cities and towns across India but around 60 per cent of the sales comes from the top 20 cities.” He said, “When we have 25 dealerships in another three to four years, the contribution from the tier II towns is going to grow much higher. We are looking at smarter ways to address customer requirements in these places.”
