INSTANEX: At close, leading Indian equity indices were strong with the Instanex FII Index up 4.83% (+4.28% at 3 pm) to 269.38, Sensex up 4.07% (+3.60% at 3 pm) and Nifty up 3.56% (+3.18% at 3 pm). The Instanex DII 15 Portfolio was up 3.44% (+3.10% at 3 pm), indicating that domestic institutional investors were not major buyers. DBS Group divested 2.7% stake in HDFC Bank

  Singapore's DBS Group reported that it has sold its 2.7 percent stake in India's HDFC Bank on Friday, which, according to a banking source, raised about $260 million for the bank. JSW Steel April crude steel production rose sharply

JSW Steel announced on Monday it registered a 60 percent year-on-year growth in crude steel production for April, mainly due to output from a recently commissioned expansion project. JSW produced 4.56 lakh tonnes of crude steel in April compared with 2.84 in the corresponding month of last year. The company had commenced commercial operation of 2.8 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) expansion project at Vijayanagar from April 10.

NIIT Ltd bags Rs 84.4 crore Gujarat schools contract

IT training firm NIIT Ltd announced on Monday that it has secured a five-year contract worth 84.38 crore rupees from the Gujarat government to provide computer aided learning in government schools. NIIT will provide IT training in 1,870 schools across the western state of Gujarat, it added in a statement. NIIT had earlier bagged contracts from the state governments of Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar and Maharashtra, it added.
