The international arm of National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), NPCI International Payments is all set to use India’s payment platform Unified Payments Interface (UPI) in Nepal to support interoperable real-time person-to-person (P2P) and merchant payment transactions in the country.

It will also allow real-time cross-border P2P settlement between Nepal and India. With this Nepal will become the first country outside India to adopt UPI. NPIL has partnered with Gateway Payments Service, which is the authorised payment system operator in Nepal, and Manam Infotech to deploy UPI in Nepal.
