India, China and UAE abstained a resolution fighting the Russian attack against Ukraine at the UN Security Council (UNSC) on Saturday morning. They said that “the current global order has been made on the UN charter international law, respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity of states.”

The resolution had Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and demanded the immediate, complete and unconditional withdrawal of Russian forces. Eleven countries voted in favour of this resolution. Both the West and Russia have committed India ahead of the UNSC vote. While there has been pressure on India from the West to take a stand on the Ukraine issue, Russian chargé d’affaires Roman Babushkin said that his country expects India to support it at the UNSC.
