PM Modi congratulated the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) on achieving an order value of Rs 1 Trillion in just one year and said the platform empowers the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The portal was launched in August 2016 for online purchases of goods and services by the government ministries and departments.

“Happy to know that the GeM portal has achieved order value of Rs 1 Lakh Crore in a single year! This is a significant increase from previous years. The platform is especially empowering MSMEs, with 57 per cent of order value coming from the MSME sector,” PM Modi said on Twitter.
