The central government tabled the Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) and their Delivery Systems (Prohibition of Unlawful Activities) Amendment Bill, 2022′ in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday. The Bill, which aims to ban funding of weapons of mass destruction and allow the Centre to freeze, seize or attach financial assets and economic resources of people engaged in such activities, was passed by the Lok Sabha.

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will move the bill to amend the Weapons of Mass Destruction and their Delivery Systems (Prohibition of Unlawful Activities) Act, 2005, as passed by the Lok Sabha into care and passed. Minister of State for Defence Ajay Bhatt will make a statement regarding the implementation status of offers mentioned in the second report of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence on Demands for Grants on Army, Navy, Air Force and Joint Staff.
