Signed on 26 August, the MoU involves a technical transfer programme considering smart airports' demands.

Airports Authority of India (AAI) and Luftfartsverket (LFV), a Swedish air navigation service provider, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for building and operationalising the next generation of sustainable aviation technology by exploring smart aviation solutions. Signed on 26 August, the MoU involves a technical transfer programme considering smart airports’ demands.

Talking about the agreement, Sweden’s ambassador to India, Klas Molin, said that the two nations share a long-standing collaboration. He said Sweden is looking forward to this new development in India-Sweden relations. Expansive India-Sweden collaboration includes health, sustainability, innovation, and energy. He added that MoU could foster more opportunities for Sweden and India to explore climate-smart solutions within the aviation sector.

Tanmaya Lal, Ambassador of India to Sweden, said that the India-Sweden partnership is on the upswing. This MoU covers one more new ground, thereby facilitating technology collaborations to improve safety and efficiency in the aviation sector. This also assumes significance in the context of the booming regional air connectivity in India.
