The government has hiked the import duty on edible oil by 5 percent.

The Central Board of Excise and Customs said in a notification that the custom or import duty on edible oil in all categories has been increased by 5 percent.

The duty on crude edible oil has been increased to 12.5 percent from 7.5 percent and on refined edible oil to 20 percent from 15 percent.
