On Monday, December 26, 2022, foreign institutional investors (FII) sold stocks worth Rs 497.65 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DII) bought stocks worth Rs 1,285.74 crore, according to data provided by NSE. In the month ended December 26, FIIs sold shares worth Rs 8,967.18 crore net while DII bought shares worth Rs 20,382.42 crore net. In November, FIIs net bought shares worth Rs 22,546.34 crore, while DIIs sold shares worth Rs 6,301.32 crore net.

Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) or foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) invest in a country without owning financial assets. On the other hand, Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs), as the name suggests, invest in the country where they are located. Political and economic trends can affect the investment decisions of FIIs and DIIs. Domestic indices closed in the green zone in the previous session, with the BSE Sensex up 721.13 points or 1.2% to end at 60,566.42, while the NSE Nifty 50 gained 207.80 points or 1.17% to 18,014.60.
