Jio 5G Network Launches in MP’s Bhopal and Indore

Reliance Jio, India’s biggest telecom operator, is planning to launch a new fixed wireless access (FWA) called Jio AirFiber.

Telecom giant Reliance Jio on Thursday announced the launch of its 5G services in Indore and Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh. Mukesh Ambani’s Jio has become the first telecom provider to offer ultra-fast 5G telecom services in secondary cities in Madhya Pradesh.

With the launch, users can now access the Jio welcome offer offering unlimited data at up to 1 Gbps+ speed at no additional charge.

The launch of Jio 5G mobile telecom services is in line with the announcement by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan at Shri Mahakaal Mahalok Ujjain on December 14, 2022. The rollout of the z5G network confirms Jio’s commitment and supports the technology for its upcoming 17th release. In a statement, Jio said the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas and Global Investor Summit will be held in Indore in January 2023.

A company spokesperson said the 5G Jio service is the only 5G service available in these cities. Indore and Bhopal are critical destinations for MP, focusing on education, tourism and industrial growth.

“With the launch of Jio True 5G services, consumers will have access to the best telecom network and unlimited growth in areas such as e-government, education, automation, artificial intelligence, gaming, healthcare, agriculture, IT and SMEs opportunity. Jio remains the most popular telecom brand in the state, enjoying nearly two-thirds of data traffic and nearly half of the customer market share in the region,” the statement added.

By next month, RIL’s telco will launch 5G services in other major state cities such as Jabalpur and Gwalior. Also, every town in Madhya Pradesh and Taluqa will be able to enjoy Jio True 5G service by the end of December 2023.

Jio, the leading operator in the MP segment, has invested Rs 4,420 crore to deploy its True 5G network in MP, accounting for 68% of the total investment in the 5G spectrum in the sector.

Jio is the only company that deployed a Standalone True 5G network with zero reliance on 4G networks. With Standalone True 5G, Jio can deliver new robust services such as low-latency connectivity, massive machine-to-machine communication, 5G voice, edge computing and network slicing, the company statement added.

Jio earlier this week announced the launch of 5G services in 11 cities, namely Lucknow, Trivandrum, Mysore, Nashik, Aurangabad, Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula, Zirakpur, Kharar and Derabassi.
