Apple and Google have restored TikTok in their app stores after receiving assurances from the US Attorney General that the ban would not be enforced immediately.
The app was removed last month following a US law passed in 2024, but a recent executive order from Trump delayed enforcement for 75 days.
By Thursday evening, TikTok was available again on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
The ban was initially imposed due to concerns over TikTok’s Chinese ownership and potential data-sharing with the Chinese government.
The law required ByteDance to sell TikTok’s US operations by January 19, but the company has stated that TikTok is not for sale.
Trump, who previously supported the ban, has now softened his stance, but if no deal is reached by early April, TikTok could face another shutdown.
