Shares of HG Infra Engineering Ltd rose 5% on 22 April after the Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd deemed the business a qualified bidder for an important project.

The bid comprises establishing a Standalone Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Gujarat with a capacity of either 300 megawatts (MW) or 600 megawatt-hours (MWh) under the Tariff-Based Global Competitive Bidding framework (Phase-VI).

In addition, the company received new orders of Rs 2,195 crore during Q4FY25. Management expects non-road infrastructure projects to account for 35% to 40% of its future order book over the next two to three years. Furthermore, HG Infra expects to acquire new orders of around Rs 10,000-12,000 crore in FY26.

HG Infra’s total order book as of 31 December 2024 was a robust Rs 15,080 crore, about three times its FY24 revenue.  Interestingly, the government funds 94% of the projects in the order book, with the private sector funding the remaining 6%. This mix ensures excellent income visibility over the following two to three years.
