China Open to Working with US Firms Amid Boeing Dispute

Lufthansa has cancelled all flights to and from Tehran.
Lufthansa has cancelled all flights to and from Tehran.

China said it’s open to normal cooperation with US firms days after halting new Boeing jet deliveries.

The Chinese Ministry of Commerce blamed US tariff hikes under Donald Trump for disrupting global air transport. China had earlier ordered airlines to stop accepting Boeing jets after both countries imposed heavy retaliatory tariffs.

Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg confirmed the delivery freeze and said the company is finding new buyers for the affected jets.

Around 50 jets meant for China are now being redirected, with some already accepted by India’s Air India, which took 41 such planes.

China hopes for a stable trade environment as its airlines have long depended on Boeing, and the country is expected to drive 20% of global aircraft demand in the next 20 years.
