Indiaβs GST collections hit a record high of Rs 2.37 lakh crore in April, rising 12.6% year-over-year.
In April 2024, GST mop-up stood at Rs 2.10 lakh crore, making it the second-highest ever since GSTβs rollout in July 2017.
Revenue from domestic transactions rose 10.7% to around Rs 1.9 lakh crore, while collections from imports jumped 20.8% to Rs 46,913 crore.
Refunds issued in April surged 48.3% to Rs 27,341 crore.
For comparison, GST collections in March 2025 stood at Rs 1.96 lakh crore, up 9.9% YoY; the same figure was also recorded in January.
The government has projected an 11% rise in GST revenue for FY25, targeting Rs 11.78 lakh crore, including Central GST and compensation cess.
