IIT Kanpur will conduct final trials for two advanced drones on 25th May, 2025, which the Indian Army could deploy.
An FPV combat drone and a heavy-lift logistics drone have been developed to meet modern warfare needs.
These drones come in response to a growing demand for high-tech UAVS during Operation Sindoor, highlighting the importance of drones in modern military strategies.
The FPV combat drone is designed for precision strikes, real-time reconnaissance, and “kamikaze” missions, with a flight speed of 120 kmph and up to 30 minutes of endurance.
The heavy-lift logistics drone can carry up to 30 kg of cargo and is built to deliver supplies in difficult terrain, such as high altitudes or disaster zones, with enhanced safety features.
IIT Kanpur has previously supplied around 30 drones to the Indian Army, showing strong performance in surveillance and combat roles.
