The airspace over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands was closed from 7 AM to 10 AM on Friday, 23rd May, for a high-altitude weapon test conducted by the tri-services Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC).
A similar closure is scheduled for 24th May, with the restricted corridor extending up to 500 km and remaining shut between 01:30 and 04:30 UTC (7 AM to 10 AM IST).
A Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) was issued on 16th May, barring civilian flights on both 23rd and 24th May.
Fridayβs test was successfully completed, and another is planned for Saturday. The ANC, Indiaβs only tri-services command, routinely conducts such high-altitude tests.
