Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in Zagreb on Wednesday, 18th June, marking the final stop of his three-nation tour and making history as the first Indian PM to visit Croatia. During his visit, Modi will hold bilateral talks with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej PlenkoviΔ and meet President Zoran MilanoviΔ.
The visit aims to strengthen ties in key sectors, including the economy, defence, and culture. This high-level engagement builds on External Affairs Minister S Jaishankarβs 2021 trip to Croatia β the first by an Indian foreign minister β and a 2023 memorandum of understanding signed between the two countries on defence cooperation.
Earlier the same day, PM Modi wrapped up what he called a βproductiveβ visit to Canada, where he took part in the 51st G7 Summit in Kananaskis at the invitation of Canadian PM Mark Carney. At the summit, Modi engaged with global leaders on major international issues and the shared goal of a better future. His stop in Canada followed an earlier visit to Cyprus.
