Apple manufacturing in India remains unaffected. This is despite concerns over Chinese engineers quietly leaving Foxconn’s iPhone facilities in Tamil Nadu, according to top analysts.
Apple was aware of the planned return of Chinese staff. Most of the production setup in India was done by Taiwanese personnel, not Chinese engineers.
Only a small number of Chinese workers were initially at the India unit. Their departure has been planned for some time, analysts say.
While the withdrawal may slightly affect assembly line efficiency, it won’t impact the quality or Apple’s long-term goals in India.
Foxconn is now focusing on training and expanding the local Indian workforce to handle future operations independently.
The shift comes as Apple prepares to ramp up iPhone 17 production. They continue reducing their dependency on China for manufacturing.
