Google is enhancing its AI-powered Search with the launch of Gemini 2.5 Pro and a new Deep Search feature for AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in the US.

Gemini 2.5 Pro, now available in AI Mode, handles complex queries involving reasoning, math, and coding. Users can select it manually from a drop-down menu for more detailed answers, while the default AI will continue to assist with everyday searches.

Deep Search, powered by Gemini 2.5 Pro, is Google’s most advanced research tool yet. It runs hundreds of background searches, analyses scattered data, and delivers fully cited reports within minutes. Both features are currently part of Google’s Labs program for early access testing.

Google is also introducing AI-powered business calling. Search can now call local businesses on your behalf to check prices, availability, or services, saving users time and helping companies to secure more bookings. For example, searching for “pet groomers near me” will give users the option to let AI check pricing and return the results.

This feature is rolling out across the US, with higher limits for Pro and Ultra plan users. Businesses can choose whether to participate through their Google Business Profile settings.
