Shares of Jupiter Wagons Ltd were trading in the green and 1% higher on 11 August after the company announced securing an order from GATX India to produce and supply 583 specialised wagons.
This contract calls for the production of a mix of BLSS, ACT2, BOXNHL, and BVCM wagons designed for the efficient transportation of bulk commodities, passenger vehicles (SUVs), and containerised freight, according to the business.
Jupiter Wagons claims that these wagons are designed for high-capacity, long-distance operations:
- BLSS (Container Carrier Wagon): Specifically designed to transport ISO containers, the BLSS wagon has a high axle load capacity and an enhanced payload-to-tare ratio. These wagons allow for more efficient transit, making them excellent for intermodal logistics and improving port-to-hinterland communication.
- ACT2 (Bi-level SUV Carrier): The ACT2 is a bi-level car carrier designed for the safe and efficient transportation of finished autos, specifically SUVs. It can accommodate up to ten SUVs per wagon. Its unique design offers minimal handling, improved vehicle protection, and faster loading/unloading, in line with the growing demand for SUVs across the country.
- BOXNHL (High-Capacity Open Wagon): Used for moving bulk goods such as coal and iron ore, among others. BOXNHL wagons are open-topped and intended for tippler unloading. With a payload capacity of more than 70 tonnes, they have higher speed capability and better brake systems, making them appropriate for heavy-haul freight corridors.
At 12:05 pm, the shares of Jupiter Wagons were trading 0.76% higher at Rs 334.50 on NSE.
