Shares of RailTel Corporation of India Ltd rallied 4% on 21 August after the company announced securing two work orders totalling Rs 50.42 crore from government entities in Odisha and Kerala.

The Higher Education Department of the Odisha government granted the first order worth Rs 15.42 crore (including tax). The scope of work includes the design and construction of CMS-based bilingual websites for colleges in the department. The project is anticipated to be completed by 19 February 2026. RailTel got the work order on 20 August 2025.

The Kerala State Information Technology Mission issued a second order worth Rs 34.99 crore (without taxes). It deals with the operation and maintenance of state data centres (SDCs) throughout a five-year term ending 18 August 2030. RailTel got this work order on 19 August 2025.

RailTel Corporation of India operates broadband communication and multimedia networks throughout the country. The company is one of India’s major telecom infrastructure providers and a reliable end-to-end IT and ICT service provider.

RailTel has a 62,000-kilometre optical fibre network along train lines, a 21,000-kilometre metropolitan access network, over 11,000 points of presence (PoPs), and 1,100 telecom towers around the country.

At 11:53 am, the shares of RailTel Corporation were trading 1.80% higher at Rs 365.90 on NSE.
