Tata Motors has expanded its commercial vehicle lineup with the launch of the Tata LPT 812, a 4-tyre truck designed to deliver the strength of a 6-tyre vehicle with the agility and efficiency of a 4-tyre design. Positioned in the Intermediate, Light, and Medium Commercial Vehicles (ILMCV) segment, it is being touted as India’s first 4-tyre truck with a 5-tonne payload capacity.
Powered by a 4SPCR diesel engine that generates 125 hp and 360 Nm of torque, the LPT 812 comes with a 5-speed gearbox and booster-assisted clutch. It is equipped with parabolic front suspension and full S-Cam air brakes. Additionally, it has tilt and telescopic power steering, heavy-duty radial tyres, and factory-fitted air-conditioning for driver comfort.
The truck offers multiple load body options to cater to industries such as FMCG, agriculture, courier services, and market goods. Tata is backing it with a 3-year/3 lakh km warranty. This includes its Sampoorna Seva 2.0 support initiative and the Fleet Edge digital platform for smarter fleet management.
With this launch, Tata Motors aims to blend performance, reliability, and cost efficiency. This move will further strengthen its position in the growing ILMCV market.
