Shares of RailTel Corporation of India Ltd soared 6% on 9 September after the company announced securing orders from the Bihar Education Project Council for ICT laboratories, ISM labs, smart classrooms, and educational materials.
The contracts involve establishing ICT and ISM laboratories, delivering teaching-learning materials for Classes I-V, and implementing smart classrooms in the state’s middle, secondary, and senior secondary schools. The execution schedule ranges from December 2025 to March 2026.
In its regulatory filing, the company said, “RailTel has received the Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from State Project Director (Spd) Bihar Education Project Council (Bepc) for procurement, supply and installation of smart classrooms at Government Middle Schools.” The cost of the project is Rs 262.14 crore and has to be completed by 31 March 2026.
RailTel received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) worth Rs 44.21 crore from the State Project Director (SPD), Bihar Education Project Council (BEPC), for the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning (SITC) of ICT Labs.
The company bagged a project worth Rs 2,57,50,12,000 to procure, supply, and install smart classrooms at government secondary and senior secondary schools in Bihar.
It also secured a Rs 59,76,99,207 contract for SITC of ISM Labs.
Additionally, RailTel won an LoA worth Rs 89,91,96,639 to supply teaching and learning materials for Classes I–V in Bihar government schools.
At 11:50 am, the shares of RailTel Corp were trading 3.58% higher at Rs 358.35 on NSE.
