During a visit to Washington from 22nd to 24th September, Commerce and Industry Ministerโled officials met with US Trade Representative Ambassador Jamieson Greer. They also met Ambassador-designate to India Sergio Gor. The team additionally engaged with key US companies and investors to promote trade and investment.
Officials discussed the broad outline of a potential deal and agreed to continue negotiations. US business leaders voiced confidence in Indiaโs growth story and signalled plans to expand operations in the country.
The update comes after US President Donald Trumpโs 23rd September UN speech. He accused India and China of funding the Ukraine war through Russian oil purchases. He again claimed he mediated an India-Pakistan ceasefireโremarks New Delhi has not addressed.
