The company in the business of shipbuilding and heavy fabrications, Swan Defence and Heavy Industries Ltd, on 30 September, announced that they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Samsung Heavy Industries.
Samsung Heavy Industries is one of the world’s leading shipbuilders in specialised and complex vessels. As a part of the MoU, both companies will explore commercial shipbuilding and heavy engineering projects in both international and domestic markets. The MoU will also cover a broad range of vessels that include gas carriers, tankers, container ships, and other specialised ships.
Rear Admiral Vipin Kumar Saxena (retd.), CEO, Swan Defence and Heavy Industries, said, “We are excited to partner with Samsung Heavy Industries, a global leader in shipbuilding. Our shared vision is to deliver enhanced value to customers and shape the future of shipbuilding through advanced technologies and strategic cooperation. We look forward to exploring new opportunities and strengthening this partnership in due course.”
The MoU drives collaboration on next-generation vessel designs, green technologies, and digital shipbuilding practices. The partners aim to optimise project execution through value engineering in production design and to localise material sourcing, cutting costs and boosting operational efficiency.
