Coursera has become one of the first apps integrated directly into ChatGPT. This marks the first time an online learning platform is embedded within the AI chatbot. The announcement was made at OpenAIβs DevDay.
With over 800 million weekly users of ChatGPT, learning is already a popular use case. Now, users can access Coursera courses, videos, and information directly within ChatGPT. This is possible by mentioning Coursera in their prompts or when the AI suggests relevant content.
Coursera CEO Greg Hart said the partnership expands access to education, helping users gain skills for economic opportunities and future jobs. OpenAIβs Leah Belsky added that combining AI with expert-led courses makes learning easier, more interactive, and actionable. This helps users explore concepts, ask questions, and receive explanations in real time.
The app is available globally (excluding the EU) to all ChatGPT users on Free, Go, Plus, and Pro plans. Initially, it is available in English, with subtitles and dubbing in select languages. This integration brings trusted educational content to millions, turning everyday ChatGPT interactions into learning experiences.
