Shares of Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd, a worldwide mobility technology firm, rallied 4% on 10 October after the company announced signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Germany-based NEURA Robotics GmbH to collaborate on advanced automation technologies and the industrialisation of robots and humanoids in India and other countries.
The agreement, inked in Metzingen, Germany, signifies Sona Comstar’s strategic expansion beyond the automotive sector into intelligent automation. The firms will work together to create sophisticated technologies, components, and subassemblies to support the next generation of robotics solutions for the manufacturing and service industries.
“With the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence and perception technologies, the world is entering a new era of intelligent automation,” Sona Comstar stated in its release, which states that the collaboration will expedite the adoption of robots in industrial and human-centric applications.
Commenting on the partnership, Vivek Vikram Singh, Managing Director and Group CEO of Sona Comstar, said, “We are excited to partner with NEURA Robotics to drive the next wave of innovation in industrial and humanoid robotics. NEURA Robotics was founded in 2019 and specialises in cognitive robotics, which are systems that can see, hear, and learn on their own. The “Neuraverse” platform aspires to set a new standard for physical AI and human-robot collaboration.
Sona Comstar, headquartered in Gurugram, is a global supplier of automotive systems and components, including electric vehicles. The company operates in India, the United States, Serbia, Mexico, and China.
At 11:50 am, the shares of Sona BWL were trading 2.39% higher at Rs 439.75 on NSE.
