China has lodged a complaint against India at the World Trade Organisation (WTO) over subsidies provided for electric vehicles (EVs) and batteries.
Commerce Secretary Rajesh Agrawal said the ministry will review the detailed submissions made by China.
Officials confirmed that China has filed similar complaints against Turkiye, Canada, and the European Union (EU) as well. โThey have sought consultations with India,โ an official said.
As per WTO procedures, seeking consultations is the first step in resolving trade disputes. If these talks fail to resolve the issue, China can request the formation of a dispute panel to rule on the issue.
