SpaceXβs Starlink has taken another leap in connectivity, officially launching its high-speed in-flight internet on United Airlines flights. The service, announced on 15th October, is free for MileagePlus members. It allows passengers to stream videos and livestream seamlessly during flights.
With this rollout, United becomes the first major US airline to offer Starlink-powered Wi-Fi on its mainline aircraft. The airline said the feature is already available on over half of its regional fleet. More planes are being equipped each day.
Starlinkβs expansion doesnβt stop there β the company is also preparing to launch its satellite broadband service in India. The plan is expected to cost around Rs 3,000 per month. This follows provisional government approval for trial runs and spectrum allocation.
Currently, Starlink operates in over 100 countries across North and South America, Europe, Africa, and Southeast Asia. This further cements its position as a global leader in satellite internet connectivity.
