The GIFT Nifty futures, which is an early indicator of the Nifty50 index stocks, was trading lower by 34 points at 25,622, indicating that the domestic benchmark indices are likely to make a negative start on Friday.
Earlier on Thursday, 16 October, the Domestic benchmark indices S&P BSE Sensex gained by 862 points or 1.04%, and settled at 83,468, while the Nifty50 traded 1.03% lower or 262 points, closing at 25,585.

Bharat Forge: Rolls-Royce signed an agreement with Bharat Forge to produce and supply fan blades for its Pearl 700 and Pearl 10X engines. The deal aligns with Rolls-Royceβs goal to double its supply chain sourcing from India by 2030. The contract was finalised at the companyβs Dahlewitz facility near Berlin.
JSW Energy: JSW Energyβs subsidiary, JSW Energy (Utkal), secured a Letter of Award from Power Company of Karnataka for a 400 MW power supply agreement over 25 years, beginning 1 April 2026. The company will source coal from Coal India under the SHAKTI Scheme 2017.

Godrej Industries: Godrej Industries invested an additional Rs 409 crore in its subsidiary, Godrej Capital, increasing its ownership stake to 91.11%.
