Customers will get instant access to the latest features without manual updates or dealership visits.

Kia India has introduced a first-of-its-kind innovation in vehicle manufacturing — a system that updates car software remotely before the vehicle even leaves the factory.

Called the Plant Remote Over-The-Air (OTA) feature, the technology allows Kia to install the latest software on cars built on its Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (CCNC) platform. This ensures that every model rolls out “ready to drive and fully updated from day one.”

This means customers will get immediate access to the latest connected services without needing manual updates or early dealership visits.

Atul Sood, Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Kia India, said the move reflects Kia’s commitment to enhancing the customer experience through innovation and connected mobility. “By ensuring every vehicle leaves the plant with the latest software, we’re redefining ownership to be more seamless, intelligent, and future-ready,” he said.

The system, built on Controller OTA technology and compliant with Connected Car System 2.0 standards, will soon be extended to all future connected Kia models. This will help bridge the gap between production and delivery with faster, smarter updates.
