Shares of Tata Power Company Ltd fell 1% after hitting a dayโs high of Rs 394 on 18th November, even as the firm announced that Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL), its renewables arm, has commissioned NHPCโs 300 MW (AC) DCR-compliant solar project at Karnisar Bhatiyan in Bikaner, Rajasthan.
The project was built over two and a half years using advanced DCR cells and bifacial modules. About 7.75 lakh solar panels were installed across tough desert terrain. All the power generated will be supplied to the Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd (PSPCL). The plant is expected to produce around 17,230 million units of green energy over its lifetime.
TPREL said the project tackled extreme heat and difficult site conditions using precision ramming and heat-resistant inverters. It also employed more than 300 local workers and supported local vendors.
With this commissioning, TPRELโs third-party project portfolio has crossed 4.9 GW. The companyโs total renewable capacity now stands at 11.6 GW. It has 5.8 GW operational and 5.8 GW under construction. Completion is expected over the next two years.
