Shares of VA Tech Wabag Ltd soared 3% on 20 November after the company reported a “large” repeat order from Nepal.

According to an exchange filing, the water technology solutions provider received a “large” repeat order from Nepal’s Melamchi Water Supply Development Board (MWSDB) for the design, build, and operation of the state-of-the-art Sundarijal Water Treatment Plant, which has a capacity of 255 million litres per day (MLD) in the Kathmandu valley.

The new plant, which will be built next to the existing Melamchi WTP, will process water from the Melamchi, Yangri, and Larke rivers, ensuring water security for Kathmandu’s residents.

“This Large order further consolidates WABAG’s strategic presence in Nepal and reinforces our position as an industry leader across the South Asian region,” Arvind Dullu, Regional Business Head of South and Southeast Asia at WABAG, said.

At 11:58 am, the shares of  Va Tech Wabag were trading 1.38% higher at Rs 1,423 on NSE.
