Shares of VST Tillers Tractors Ltd soared 5% on Friday, 28 November, after the company unveiled its first electric Power Tiller and electric Power Weeder at the 9th EIMA AGRIMACH, which took place at PUSA in New Delhi.
According to the firm, the launch marks VST’s entry into the fully electric farm machinery category, demonstrating its dedication to sustainable, future-ready agricultural solutions.
The new electric range is meant to meet the changing needs of Indian farmers by providing eco-friendly performance, lower running costs, and ease of use, ushering in a new era of green agricultural solutions.
Antony Cherukara, CEO of VST Tillers Tractors, stated that the new electric versions were entirely engineered and manufactured in-house at VST’s modern facilities. “The introduction of our Electric Tiller and Electric Weeder demonstrates VST’s continuous commitment to empowering farmers with cutting-edge, efficient, and sustainable solutions. Our EV solutions are intended to provide excellent performance while minimising environmental impact, in line with India’s clean energy ambitions, he noted.
However, VST’s electric mobility project relies on years of partnership with top worldwide electric tractor OEMs, where it provided sophisticated drivetrain components for autonomous and next-generation electric tractors. Leveraging this extensive expertise, as well as a strong emphasis on indigenous innovation, the company is now poised to apply global EV learnings to India’s small-farm mechanisation scene.
VST’s future-ready solutions strive to reinvent productivity, sustainability, and affordability for smallholder farmers.
At EIMA AGRIMACH 2025, VST Tillers displayed not just its new electric tiller and weeder line, but also a broad portfolio of sophisticated agricultural machinery. This featured electric start power tillers (13 and 16 horsepower), crop-specific weeders including the Ranger 50, Ranger 80 FR, and Ranger 80 RR types, a maise reaper, engines for portable power solutions, and the VST Zetor 50 HP tractor.
In keeping with its global growth strategy, VST plans to introduce its electric machinery range in European and other international markets, expanding its influence outside India.
The company continues to show strong market momentum domestically, leading the Indian tiller industry with power tiller sales of 37,297 units in FY25, up from 36,480 in FY24.
The adoption of electric power tillers and weeders is projected to boost VST’s growth and help India shift to more sustainable and efficient farming techniques.
