China Welcomes India’s Business Visa Move, Signals Willingness to Boost Ties

China said the visa move will ease exchanges and help restart stalled projects.

India’s move to ease business visa rules for Chinese professionals has drawn a positive response from Beijing. It is called a “positive action” that supports the interests of both countries. The change allows easier entry for Chinese nationals into sectors such as manufacturing, infrastructure, telecom equipment, and renewables. This marks a major step toward improving economic engagement after years of strained ties.

China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said in Beijing that the visa relaxation would boost people-to-people exchanges. It would also help companies resume stalled or delayed projects in India.

Guo added that China is willing to continue communication and consultation with India. This aims further to improve the ease of exchanges between the two sides.

Beijing noted that the development aligns with mutual interests and could help stabilize and rebuild relations. These relations were hit by border tensions in 2020. Industry experts also see the move as a constructive confidence-building measure. It could lead to smoother project execution and a better flow of skilled personnel.
