Shares of Larsen and Toubro Ltd (L&T) are trading flat on 8th January after touching a dayβs high of Rs 4,169.90, despite the company saying that the Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME) of the Indian Army has awarded it a supply order.
The order covers the overhaul, upgrade, and obsolescence management of the indigenous Pinaka Multi-Rocket Launcher Systems. These systems are in service with the Indian Army, L&T said.
The partnership aims to enhance long-term operational availability and modernise Pinaka regiments, while supporting the lifecycle sustenance of the systems.
L&T said the programme will focus on upgrading critical sub-systems. It will also manage outdated components and provide technical support to Army Base Workshops.
Under the initiative, the 510 Army Base Workshop (ABW) of the Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME) will carry out the upgrades. At the same time, L&T, as the OEM, will supply critical spares. They will also provide technical and quality support.
L&T said the collaboration marks an important step in strengthening lifecycle support for Made-in-India frontline artillery systems.
