GAIL (India) announced on Monday, 9 March, that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with RailTel Corporation of India Limited on 5 March 2026, to engage in important sectors of the country’s digital infrastructure.
The MoU was signed by S S Agrawal, Executive Director (O&M-CO), GAIL, and J S Marwah, CS & GGM (Law), RailTel, in the presence of Rajeev Kumar Singhal, Director (Business Development), GAIL; Sanjai Kumar, Chairman and Managing Director, RailTel; and other senior officials from both firms.
Speaking on the development, Deepak Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director, GAIL, said, “This partnership is fully in sync with our vision to integrate energy and digital infrastructure, leveraging the transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI), all of which are pivotal to India’s development journey.”
Sanjai Kumar, Chairman and Managing Director, RailTel, said, “RailTel is committed to strengthening India’s digital backbone through robust and secure communication infrastructure. Our collaboration with GAIL will enable both organisations to combine their strengths in network infrastructure and technological capabilities to accelerate the expansion of reliable digital connectivity across the country.”
The strategic alliance aims to strengthen India’s communication framework, optimise resource utilisation, and accelerate the country’s digital connection objectives.
