L&T shares touched a day high of Rs 3,804.90, recovering from early losses, after its heavy engineering arm won large global orders.
The order wins came from L&T Heavy Engineering, the company’s hi-tech manufacturing arm, which picked up a string of contracts across Asia, Africa, Europe and the Americas.
L&T groups these deals together and calls the combined value large, meaning somewhere between Rs 2,500 crore and Rs 5,000 crore.
The biggest names on the list belong to Dangote Group, Africa’s largest industrial conglomerate, which has placed orders for a major refinery and fertiliser expansion in Nigeria and Ethiopia.
That scope includes what L&T describes as the world’s largest fluid catalytic cracking reactor regenerator package, along with key urea and ammonia equipment. There is more beyond Africa too.
A Japanese client placed a repeat order for heat exchangers and absorbers meant for an LNG project in Canada, while customers in Spain, the US and Brazil ordered equipment such as coke drums, fractionator columns and heat exchangers.
This adds to a busy stretch for L&T. Earlier in the week, its metals and minerals business landed mega orders, a category the company reserves for deals worth Rs 10,000 crore to Rs 15,000 crore, from domestic mining and metals firms.
The company’s board had earlier approved a final dividend of Rs 38 a share for FY26, up from Rs 34 the year before. L&T is due to report its first quarter results for FY27 on 28 July.
As of 14:12 pm, L&T shares were trading at Rs 3,800 on the NSE, up 0.20% on the day.
