Shares of OM Infra skyrocketed 12% on 28 July after the company emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for a Rs 568.98 crore irrigation project in Chhattisgarh.
The order win boosted investor sentiment, with the stock touching an intraday high of Rs 97.50 on the NSE as the market welcomed another major addition to the company’s order book.
The contract has been awarded by the Water Resources Department (WRD), Chhattisgarh. It involves the construction of the Mohmela Sirpur Barrage Project on the Mahanadi River, along with a pipe irrigation network and five years of operation and maintenance in Raipur district. The project is expected to strengthen irrigation infrastructure and improve water availability for agriculture in the region.
This is the second major project secured by OM Infra in July. Earlier this month, the company was declared the L1 bidder for a Rs 482.27 crore EPC turnkey contract from the Water Resources Department in Rajasthan.
That project includes the construction of a dam and a pressurised irrigation network under the Andheri Medium Irrigation Project in Baran district. The back-to-back order wins are expected to improve the company’s revenue visibility over the coming years.
OM Infra has built a strong presence in water infrastructure, hydro-mechanical projects, and engineering solutions. The latest contracts further strengthen its position in the irrigation sector and support its growth strategy through government infrastructure projects.
Following the announcement, the stock remained in focus throughout the trading session. After touching a day’s high of Rs 97.50, at 12:22 pm, the shares of OM Infra were trading 3.5% higher at Rs 90.09 on the NSE, reflecting continued investor optimism over the company’s expanding project pipeline.
