Biocon touched a day high of ₹435.50 on Wednesday after its Canadian arm received Health Canada approval for the Yesintek autoinjector pen.
Health Canada cleared two strengths of the autoinjector, 45 mg per 0.5 mL and 90 mg per mL, under the Yesintek brand, which is Biocon’s version of ustekinumab.
This comes months after the regulator had already approved Yesintek in prefilled syringe, vial and intravenous infusion formats back in October 2025.
What makes the autoinjector approval worth noting is that Biocon says this delivery format isn’t something the original branded product offers in Canada.
In practice, that means doctors and patients get more flexibility in how the treatment is administered, whether at home or in a clinical setting. Yesintek treats a fairly wide range of autoimmune conditions.
It’s approved for moderate to severe plaque psoriasis in both adults and children aged 6 to 17, psoriatic arthritis in adults, and moderate to severe Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis in adults as well.
This isn’t Biocon’s only regulatory update this month. Earlier in July, the European Medicines Agency approved a new fill finish line for Semglee, Biocon’s insulin glargine product, at its manufacturing site in Malaysia.
Supplies from that line to Europe are expected to begin in the second quarter of FY27.
Zooming out, the stock has had a decent run lately. It’s up more than 18% over the past six months and around 11% so far this calendar year.
As of 14:19 pm on NSE, Biocon was trading at ₹431.50, down 0.22% or ₹0.95 from the previous close of ₹432.45.
