L&T shares touched a day high of Rs 4,042.40 on the NSE after its offshore arm won an ultramega Rs 15,000 crore ADNOC contract.
The trigger was a big contract win for L&T’s offshore arm. L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Offshore has secured what the company is calling an ultramega order worth more than Rs 15,000 crore from ADNOC Offshore, the state oil company of the UAE.
The project involves building and upgrading several offshore facilities, and L&T will lead a consortium handling most of the work.
Its scope covers the full range of offshore construction, from engineering and procurement right through to installation and commissioning.
A large chunk of the fabrication will happen at L&T’s own yards, drawing on capabilities the company has built over decades of offshore project experience. This isn’t L&T’s first big win this quarter.
Just days earlier, on July 30, the company’s power arm bagged an order worth between Rs 10,000 crore and Rs 15,000 crore from NTPC for a thermal power project in Chhattisgarh.
Before that, on July 28, L&T signed a cooperation agreement with European grid operator TenneT for an offshore wind programme, also valued above Rs 15,000 crore.
L&T has also delivered offshore projects across the region for over four decades, including platforms, subsea pipelines and decommissioning work, giving it a long track record in this space.
At 12:22 pm, L&T shares were trading at Rs 4,036.00 on the NSE, up 0.27% for the day. The stock has fallen around 1.28% over the past six months and is down 2.54% so far this year.
